Ethel Beasley's Obituary
Ethel Faye Beasley, daughter of Noah and Mary I. (Williams) Stark, was born September 16, 1920, near Grovespring, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, March 15, 2006, in Texas County Memorial Hospital, in Houston, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, five months, and twenty-nine days. On March 16, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer LeRoy Beasley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer, on April 8, 1971; a son, Everett Beasley; three stepsons; and two brothers, Lloyd and Arthur Griffin. Faye is survived by two sons, Raymond Beasley, of Hartville, Missouri, and Doyle Beasley, of Cameron, Missouri; four daughters, Lura Beltz, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Fern Beltz, of Cabool, Missouri, Lillian Woods, of Olathe, Kansas, and Violet Beasley; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Grovespring area until moving to Hartville, with her family, in 1960. Then, in 2003 she moved to Cabool to be close to her daughter. Faye attended the Hartville Christian Church, where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with friends. She loved her family very much and was an excellent mother to her children. In her spare time she greatly enjoyed embroidering, making quilts, and was a wonderful cook, especially known for her pies. She also loved spending time in her garden, where she grew many vegetables and beautiful flowers. Faye was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother; and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville. Burial will be in the McBride Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Bledsoe, Larry Gene, 56 Larry Gene Bledsoe, son of Homer Laverne and Ruby Catherine Eaton Bledsoe, was born May 10, 1949, in the family home, in Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life March 30, 2006, in his home, at the age of fifty-six years, eight months and twenty days. On June 9, 1967, he was united in marriage to Bernadette Helsley, and they shared the last thirty-eight years together. To this union a son and a daughter were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Carlos Bledsoe; a sister-in-law, Beverly Helsley; and an uncle and aunt, Ova Lee and Alberta Eaton Boyer. Larry is survived by his wife, Bernadette, of the home; a son, Terry Bledsoe, and his wife, Karrie, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a daughter, Carla Schumaker, and her husband, Will, of Rolla, Missouri; four grandsons, Zachary Bledsoe, Derek, Michael and Jared Schumaker; a sister, Ruby Dean Stigall, of Conway, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Beth Bledsoe-Bass, and her husband, John, of Republic, Missouri; his four nephews and their wives, Brad and Debbie Bledsoe, of California, Missouri, Randy and Lori Bledsoe, of Belton, Missouri, Doug and Jodie Stigall, of Hartville, Missouri, and Mark and Kim Stigall, of Conway, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, A. J. Helsley, and his wife, Wanda, and Bruce Helsley, all of Hartville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Jennie Helsley, of Springfield, Missouri and Juanda Prelle, of Gravette, Arkansas, and Eunice Knopp, and her husband, Walter, of St. Louis, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He will live in our hearts forever. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1 - 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Graveside service and burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to St. Luke's Hospice or Mid American heart institute may be made through the funeral home. Cook, Opal White, 85 Opal Marise White Cook, daughter of Jesse Benton and Catherine Charlotte Wiley Custer, was born February 2, 1921, in Gross, Nebraska. She departed this life Sunday, March 26, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, one month, and twenty-four days. On October 12, 1938, she was united in marriage to Burrell Russell White, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. Rev. White passed away on October 30, 1987. On December 21, 1996, she married Kermit Duane “Ty” Cook, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1997. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stanley Custer; and a sister, Janet Custer. Opal is survived by a daughter, Marise Silance, and her husband, Neal, of Louisburg, Kansas; two sons, Larry White, and his wife, Carole, of Osceola, Missouri, and Ronald White, and his wife, Shirley, of Paola, Kansas; four stepdaughters, Vallee Peterson, of Leawood, Kansas, Iris Dee Barnes, of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Mona Cline, of Bozeman, Montana, and Voy Moore, of Seattle Washington, two sons, Gary Cook, of Cumberland, Maryland, and Kent Cook, of San Diego, California; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Myra Jerred, and her husband, Rollin, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Nebraska. After she and Burrell were married, they made their home in Nebraska for several years before moving to Conway, Missouri in 1949. During these years, Burrell became an Assembly of God minister, and was a traveling evangelist for many years. They made their home on their farm in the Conway and Phillipsburg area until moving back to Nebraska in 1959. From there the family returned to Missouri and made their home in several locations where Burrell pastored congregations. Eventually, they returned to the Conway area, where Burrell was the minister of the Conway Assembly of God Church for several years. Besides being a devoted and hardworking homemaker and mother, Opal also was a supportive and dedicated pastor’s wife. Opal made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of the Lebanon Assembly of God. She greatly enjoyed spending time visiting with her friends at the Conway Senior Citizen Center, and also was an avid reader. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Memorial contributions to Conway Senior Citizen Center may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral home of Lebanon, Missouri.
