Ethel Irene Mobley's Obituary
Ethel Irene Mobley, daughter of Willis Isom and Bertha Lutisha Luellen Copeland, was born December 11, 1922 in Garland, Texas. She departed this life Friday, January 4, 2008 in the Hartville Care Center, Hartville, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years and twenty-three days. On February 18, 1941, Ethel was united in marriage to D.N. Mobley and to this union eight children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband D.N., on February 22, 1985; one son, Charles Newton Mobley; a grandson, Russell Dale Nobles; a granddaughter, Tammy Kay Mobley; four brothers, Willis Charles Copeland, Lewis Franklin Copeland, Ardean Walter Copeland, and Daniel Floyd Lyman Copeland; three sisters, Stella Lucille McComb, Ola Mae Nichols, and Francis Pauline Martin; two sons-in-law, Orval Prater and William H. Jackson. She is survived by her seven children, Della Mobley of Norwood, Missouri, Mary Jackson of Hartville, Missouri, Arthur Mobley and his wife Shirley, of Marshfield, Missouri, Shirley Coday and her husband Darrell, of Mansfield, Missouri, Carolyn Moore and her husband Jimmy, of Hartville, Missouri, Danny Mobley and his wife Phyllis, of Marshfield, Missouri and Melody Caswell and her husband Lyle, of Seymour, Missouri; her grandchildren, Donna Sue Weatherly and her husband Russell , David Scott Nobles and his wife Dora, Luther Dale Lancaster and his wife Karin, Selyna Lynn Williams and her husband Johnny, James Leonard Lancaster and his significant other Cindy, Shane Newton Mobley, Travis Dale Mobley, Wanda Kay Casey Mobley, Twila Kay Dedmon and her husband Gary, Michael Dwayne Coday and his wife Laura, Rebecca Jo Jones and her husband Ronnie, Carolyn Michelle Ward and her husband Billy, Jimmy Dale Moore Jr. and his significant other Angeline, Dana Lynne Kieffer and her husband Todd, Daniell Irene Mobley and Rachel DiAnn Mobley, Lyle Aaron Daniel Caswell and his wife Elizabeth, Sandan Joshua Caswell and his wife Tia, and Shekinah Nichole Heil and her husband and Jerry; her great-grandchildren, Rebekah Sue, Matthew Lynn and Jacquelyn Rae Weatherly, Russell Dale, Christina Ann, and Laura Elizabeth Nobles, Stormy Jarad and Josehine Brandy Lancaster, JaLissa Renee, Johnny David and Summer Denise Williams, Aleasha Nicole Marie, Gary Paul and Dalton Ray Lancaster, Lynette Biggers and her husband Steve, Carrie Garner, Sally Mobley and Stachey Lynn Strackbein and her husband Eric, Garith Ray, Justin Lee and Grant Austin Dedmon, Shaina Miquelle, Chelsea Danielle, Tyler Lane and Bryce William Coday, Brianne Nicole, Ashley Marie, and Hailey Grace Jones, Sheyann Michelle and Bayleigh LeAnn Ward, Courtnee DeAnn, Kelby Dale, and Mia Anne Moore, Leah, Alexis Reyes, and George Olivas, Isaian and Gavellie Kieffer, Randy Crawford and Beverly Welsh, Mica Leann, Jasmine Belle, Romie Iaasic, and Charity Rae Caswell, Wyatt Lee Caswell, and Jeffery Flint Heil; a great-great-granddaughter, Laura Beth Biggers; a sister, Delphine Carrington of Seymour, Texas; many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Ethel was born in Texas and spent most of her early years in the Seymour and Garland areas. After she and D.N. were married, they lived in California, Utah, Arizona and Southwest Texas. In 1965, they moved to Wright County, Missouri where they owned and operated a dairy farm. Ethel was of the Baptist faith and in her younger years had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour, Texas. She centered her life on her family and took great pride in raising her children and maintaining the farm with her husband. Ethel was a wonderful woman with a great sense of humor, and in her spare time, enjoyed singing, writing poetry, making various crafts, going bowling with her friends and playing bingo. Ethel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Hartville. Burial will be in the Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Return to top
