Ethel Johnson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Ethel Eileen Johnson, age 79, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away at her home, in Bolivar, on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
Ethel was born on November 9, 1938, in Loxa, Illinois, at home, to Claire and Mary (Koffold) Fosdick. She was the youngest of seven children. She married John Richard Johnson on June 9, 1957.
Ethel will be best be remembered for her artistic ability. She loved to draw and paint, enjoyed making crafts and jewelry as gifts to sell. She began making holiday pins and sold them through her sister, Barb, around Pontiac and Bloomington, Illinois, and also Kimberling City and Reeds Springs, Missouri. She was a great cook and enjoyed trying new recipes, and making different ones to bring to church events, or big holiday dinners for family.
Ethel was active in Eastern Star for many years and has been involved with her church. She was generous with her talents, her love, and her time.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Mary; siblings, Lorena Bechler, Clarita Borkey, and Barbara Claudin.
Survivors include her husband John; three children, Todd Johnson, and wife Judy, Mary Seiner, Julie Johnson and husband Brett; three grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Erin Miller, and Brian Johnson; six great-grandchildren, Ian, Declan, Zechariah, and Molly Miller, and Madelyn and Connor Johnson; and sister Marilyn Scurlock.
Burial will be in Pontiac, Illinois at a later date
