Ethel Maxine Weaver (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ethel Maxine Weaver was born August 24, 1927 in Stoutland, Missouri to William and Ada Marshall Wagner. She passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was ninety-seven years of age, only two weeks shy of celebrating her ninety-eighth birthday.
Ethel was raised in Stoutland and graduated with the class of 1946 from Stoutland High School. Following graduation, she headed for Chicago, Illinois before returning to Missouri to marry her true love and best friend, Eugene Robert “Bob” Weaver on October 15, 1947. They made many memories and stood by each other for fifty-nine years before he passed away in May of 2006.
Over the years, Ethel was employed at Brown Shoes, Rice Stix and H.D. Lee. In 1948, she and Bob co-owned Weaver Auto Sales and she worked as a title clerk alongside her husband until 1997. When Bob and Ethel went to St. Louis dealerships to purchase cars to bring back to Lebanon to sell, they drove separate vehicles, each with their own tow bar to bring their purchases home. Ethel proudly towed cars home and would get lots of “looks” from others on the highway as she towed cars home. It wasn’t typical in those days to see a woman towing a car. They also owned and operated a car wash on Adams Street from 1971 – 1973.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and her siblings.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Connie Williams and her husband Jackie of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons, Ronnie Weaver and his wife Pam and Donnie Weaver and his wife Helen, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Blake Williams and his wife Megan, Joe Williams and his wife Joni, Josh Weaver and his wife Rusti, Atisha Rogers and her husband Jeremy, Jeremy Weaver and his wife Jessica and Jordan Weaver and his wife Rebecca; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Isabelle, Harper, Jaylie, Jayden, Jett, Jude, Kaleb and his wife Allison, Brody, Brayden, Aaron, Isaiah, Abby, Zion, Carter, Aida, Paxton, Cody and his wife, Allison, Chloe, Cash, Boon, Aniah and Nora; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Randy; some very special nieces and nephews and a number of other family members and friends.
Ethel attended Lebanon First Assembly of God for many years.
She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and raising vegetables in her garden. She had a fondness for animals, especially cats, dogs and goats. Ethel always looked forward for the opportunity to babysit her grandchildren. She loved each one of them so much.
Ethel will be remembered for her love of family vacations to Florida to the beach. Going to the ocean was her happy place.
Ethel loved her family and was a big part of each one of their lives. She was a wonderful wife, dedicated mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Graveside services for Ethel Maxine Weaver will be Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Mount Rose Memorial Park in Lebanon.
A memorial to Lebanon First Assembly of God has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
