Etta Gallion's Obituary
Etta Frances (Hamilton) Gallion was born on November, 10, 1949 to Samuel and Clara Hamilton, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She departed this life on Sunday, July 08, 2012 at Cox Health Hospital South, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, eight months and twenty-eight days.
While in the service, Richard was introduced to Etta through his brother Henry and it was truly love at first sight. On June 6, 1970, Etta Hamilton united in marriage to Richard Gallion and to this union two daughters and one son were born. For forty-two years Etta and Richard lovingly raised their family and built a life together through faith, hard work and love.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Etta’s family moved to the Seymour area in 1965. It was here that she put down her roots, working and raising her family. She was called to her Nazarene faith early in life and it served her throughout the good and bad times.
Family was the center of Etta’s life. She was the heart of her family; and they had hers. She took pleasure in the small things of life, caring for her family and loving them completely. Etta was full of life despite her illness and leaves behind a legacy of love and grace.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-laws Garland Simmons, Paul Kistner, Archie Owens and James Gallion; and her sister-in-law Kathy Garfit.
Etta leaves behind her loving husband Richard Gallion of the home; her daughters Sherlyn Hume and husband Darren, and Kayla Lynn Jackson and husband William, both of Seymour, Missouri; her son Kenneth Richard Gallion, Jr. of Cutler Bay, Florida; her grandchildren Shawn, Darren, J.D., Sebastian, Brayden, Joseph, Madison, Hannah and Katarina; her sisters Vonna Sue Simmons of St. Louis, Missouri, and Marcella Kistner of Austin, Texas; her brother Wayne Edward Hamilton and wife Kathy of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; her brothers-in-law Henry Gallion and wife Michelle of Strafford, Missouri, Gene Gallion and wife Darlene of Seymour, Missouri, Jess Gallion and wife Alice of Commerce City, Colorado and Kenneth Garfit of Springfield, Missouri; her sisters-in-law Alice Ragsdale and husband Johnnie of Seymour, Missouri, Sue Sampson and husband Tom also of Seymour, Missouri, Elsie Smith and husband James of Niangua, Missouri, Linda Owens of Seymour, Missouri, Carol Gardner and husband Joe of Marshfield, Missouri, and Kaye Gallion of Little Rock, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, along with many other dear family and friends.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, we will miss Etta Gallion. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will forever cherish the memories she created for those she loved.
