Eugene Patten's Obituary
Eugene Patten, son of Henry Oliver and Bertha A. May Patten, was born February 20, 1932, in Pekin, Illinois. He departed this life Saturday, June 24, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, four months, and four days. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Everett, Walter, and Fred; and a sister, Betty. Eugene is survived by three brothers, Ed and John Patten, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Bob Patten, and his wife, Diana, of Marshfield, Missouri; three sisters, Ruth and Dorothy Patten, both of Lebanon, Missouri, and Frances Perryman, and her husband, Otto, of Grovespring, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Illinois and then moved to Missouri when he was a young man. He then moved back and forth from Missouri to Illinois following his father’s work on the railroad. Eventually, he made his home in Lebanon, Missouri and worked for the Independent Stave Company for several years. He also worked doing lawn care for the last few years. Eugene made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized at the Northview Tabernacle Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed working on his house and liked doing yard work. He was always willing to help others and greatly enjoyed being with his family. Eugene will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. We celebrate his life and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Little Vine Cemetery near Grovespring. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
