Eula Fay Owens (Seymour)'s Obituary
Eula Fay Owens, age 85, a long time Seymour resident, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missoiuri. She was born on Sunday, December 18, 1932 in Seymour, Missouri to Edward Vernard Emerick and Dona Vera (Miller) Emerick. In 1933 she and her family moved to Good Hope, Missouri and a few years later moved on to Seymour to the farm on Burnett Road, close to where she has lived for many years. On November 17, 1950 she was united in marriage to Raymond “Dee” Owens and to this union, five children were born.
Eula had worked at Tabin/Hamilton Shoe Factory for fourteen years and at H.D. Lee for two years and Emerson Electric in Ava for one year before going to Cox Medical Center (both North and South) where she was the second shift Dietary Supervisor for about ten years before she retired.
Preceding Eula in death were her parents, her husband Raymond, five brothers Harold, Wilbur, Vernard, Delbert and Eugene Emerick; three sisters Sharon DeCou, Ida Mae Kastning and Anna Ipock.
Her hobbies were working in the yard, planting roses, flowers, shrubbery and flowering trees. She also spent time feeding birds and bird watching along with watching for deer and squirrels.
She is survived by her five children Larry Owens and wife Barbara of Diggins, MO, Connie Jenkins and husband Tom of Fordland, MO, Brenda Sartin and husband Donald of Marshfield, MO, Jeff Owens and wife Becky of Mansfield, MO, Pam Harris and husband Billy of Seymour, MO; 8 grandchildren Darin Jenkins and wife Alycia of Ozark, MO, Deadra Thurman and husband Kevin of Rogersville, MO, Amy Clark and husband Tim of Marshfield, MO, Crystal Fore and husband Gary of Rogersville, MO, April Kimball and husband Randy of Marshfield, MO, Shane Harris of Seymour, MO, Eric Owens and wife Bailey of Mansfield, MO, Tiffany Washburn and husband Evan of Ozark, MO; two brothers Roy Emerick of Hartville, MO, Lawrence Emerick of Seymour, MO; 1 sister Florence Shimel and husband Elbert of Seymour as well as numerous great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
