Eunice Knopf's Obituary
Eunice Evelyn Knopf, daughter of Ellis C. and Liddie H. Nelson Hire, was born February 28, 1929 in Moody, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, January 5, 2008 at her son’s home in Republic, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, ten months and seven days. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Gerald Roddie and Tommie Lee Ferrell; along with two brothers, Chesley and Valmer Hire. Eunice is survived by two sons, Dannie Ferrell and his wife Debra, of Republic, Missouri, and Tracy Evans and his wife Teresa, of Hartville, Missouri; one daughter, Connie Welch and her husband Bruce, of Urbana, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Cannon and her husband Paul Dean, of Cadiz, Kentucky, and Eleanor Powers, of Boise, Idaho; a number of nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Eunice spent most of her life in the Macomb and Mansfield areas, and moved to Springfield in 1997 to be closer to her family. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church in Macomb. In her spare time, Eunice enjoyed working in her garden, watching birds and going to garage sales. She also loved reading and watching football. Eunice’s family is very grateful to the staff of Community Hospices for the wonderful care and compassion which was given to her during her illness. Eunice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri. Return to top
