Eva Gertrude Faulkner (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Eva Gertrude Faulkner, age 85, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away at her home, on Saturday, December 23, 2017.
Gertrude was born on February 14, 1932, in Dearborn, Missouri, to Samuel J and Beulah (Morgan) McClasky. She grew up in the Fairfax area, and graduated school there. Gertrude was united in marriage to James Gerald Faulkner, on June 3, 1950 at the Fairfax Baptist Church at Fairfax, by Gertrude’s uncle Rev. Lloyd E. Morgan. They later moved to Bolivar, Missouri.
Gertrude worked at several places in Bolivar, including Hackers Dress Shop, delivering flowers, and also newspapers for the Bolivar Herald Free Press with Jim, and lastly at Butler Funeral Home, as the receptionist.
She was known for her cooking, especially her fried chicken. She kept a vegetable garden so she would always have fresh food to can. She was also a very skilled Scrabble player.
Survivors include one daughter, Debra Renee Volcko, and husband Doug, of Bolivar; two sons, James C. Faulkner, and wife Kathy, of Bolivar, and Christopher Faulkner, and wife Barbara, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Josh Faulkner, and wife Katie, of Freeman, Missouri; Renee Elkins, of Clarksville, Tennessee; Stephen Volcko, and wife Traci, of Bolivar; John Volcko, and wife Missy, of Urbana, Missouri; Bryson Heenan, of Lawrence, Kansas; Wes Heenan, of Pittsburg, Kansas; and Madison Faulkner, of Bella Vista, Arkansas. 16 great grandchildren Trey Elkins, Jaron Elkins, Gracie Faulkner, Amelie Faulkner, MacKenzie Slack, and husband Jared, Sidney Volcko, Olivia Volcko, Samuel Volcko, Abby Ashlock, Allison Ashlock, Hayden Harper, Hannah Harper, Harley Volcko, Riley Volcko, Kinsley Volcko and John Volcko Jr; one sister, Jean Pottsratz, of Washington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Beulah McClasky; two brothers, William Ray McClasky, and Manuel McClasky; and her husband, James Faulkner.
