Evalyn E. Wade (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Evalyn E. Wade, daughter of Floyd and Eva Waisner Dority, was born October 2, 1929, near Knobby, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, April 20, 2014, in Bothwell Regional Health Center, in Sedalia, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, six months, and eighteen days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Virgil Ash, who preceded her in death. On February 18, 1972, she married Ernest Edwin Wade, who passed away on October 5, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Granvel O. Dority; and a sister, Vernetta Faye Edwards. Evalyn is survived by a sister, Beulah I. Anderson, of Phoenix, Arizona; two stepsons, Richard Wade, of Warsaw, Missouri, and Ronald Wade, of Kansas City, Missouri; several step-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was raised in the Edwards, Missouri community, and graduated from Climax Springs High School. She then made her home in the Edwards community for most of her life, and she and Virgil operated a café and convenience store for several years. Later, Evalyn worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory for several years. Throughout her life she was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Evalyn was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and faithfully attended Cable Ridge Church of Christ for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her garden and growing beautiful flowers. She also took great pride in caring for her lawn. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing recipes with her neighbors and friends. Evalyn will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family, her neighbors, church friends, and all those who knew and loved her.
