Evelyn Mae Franklin (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Evelyn Mae Franklin, daughter of Elmer L. and Mildred Hudson Williams, was born November 11, 1932, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, three months, and two days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James Williams; and a sister, Doris McClanahan.
Evelyn is survived by three sons, Scott Franklin, and Margie, of Strafford, Missouri, Steven Franklin, and Nate, of Phoenix, Arizona, and J. D. Hicks, of Licking, Missouri; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Barbara Mizer, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area and lived most of her life in Lebanon. She worked at the Rice Stix Factory, which later became the H. D. Lee Company, for over forty years. She then was employed at K-Mart and Lebanon Daily Record before retiring. She was always a devoted homemaker to her family. Evelyn devoted herself to caring for other family members through the years.
Evelyn attended Taylor Avenue Church of God as a child where she accepted the Lord and was baptized.
She enjoyed doing word puzzles and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team. She was a bit feisty, very independent, and held steadfast to her convictions. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-five years.
Memorial contributions to the Lowery Cemetery may be left at the funeral home.
