Evelyn Catherine Jones (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Evelyn Catherine Jones, 92, died on Jan. 14, 2017 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar.
The daughter of Andrew and Caroline Polodna, Evelyn was born on March 26, 1924 in the rural family home near Bolivar. The eldest child, Evelyn was 14 years old when she assumed the role of caring for her younger siblings when her mother Caroline suffered an untimely death. She never tired of feeding her family and this last Christmas prepared trimmings and desserts to go with the turkey.
On Oct. 21, 1945, she married Lewis N. Jones, who passed away on Jan.11, 2003. Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Polodna, Raymond Polodna and Martin Polodna and by her sisters Marjorie Polodna, Ritha Mashburn, Elizabeth Haralson and Regina Williams.
She is survived by her son Randy Jones and wife Donna of Bolivar, her daughters Linda Sivils of Bolivar and Nancy Taylor and husband Dave of Salisbury, Mo. and her grandchildren Holly Hurd of Chillicothe, Calley Sivils of Bolivar and twins Tristen and Torre Taylor of Salisbury.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, with burial to follow at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery, in Bolivar.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
