Evelyn Mae Wehmeyer (Hartville)'s Obituary
Evelyn Mae Wehmeyer, daughter of Walter Klondike and Lillian Kay Sommers Boehm, was born May 3, 1932 in Hermann, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the Hartville Care Center, at the age of eighty-two years and fourteen days.
On September 24, 1952, Evelyn was united in marriage to Raymond Richard Wehmeyer, Jr., and together they shared nearly fifty years of marriage until his passing December 14, 2001.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; a granddaughter, Rebecca Wehmeyer; and two brothers, Samuel and Walter Thomas Boehm.
She is survived by her sons, Tim Wehmeyer and wife Jane of Hartville, Missouri, and Richard Wehmeyer and wife Lura Jane of Branson West, Missouri; four grandchildren, Taylor Wehmeyer, Tasha Flagg, Jessica Wehmeyer, and Tammy Barclay; a number of great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Sue Avery of Warrenton, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Boehm of Ashtabula, Ohio; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Evelyn was born in Hermann, Missouri and spent her younger years living there. Following her marriage to Raymond, the family moved to Warrenton, Missouri to make their home. They moved to Grovespring, Missouri in 1991 to make their final home. Evelyn was a devoted wife and homemaker to her family. She worked for many years with her husband on their farm.
When her health permitted, Evelyn attended the United Methodist Church in Hartville.
In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed sewing, and had a knack for crocheting. She took great pride in her housework and was an excellent cook.
Evelyn was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
