Everet 's Obituary
Everett U. “Buddy” McCoy, Sr., son of Emit U.V. and Mable A. Underhill McCoy, was born November 13, 1934, in Jerusalem, Arkansas. He departed this life Wednesday, December 30, 2009, in the Missouri Veterans Home, in Mount Vernon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, one month, and seventeen days. He shared many years with Sandra L. Hardin and they were united in marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Susan Ann Hough; two sons, Jeffrey Allen McCoy, and Gary Todd McCoy; a brother, Richard McCoy; and a sister, Margie Goodwin. “Buddy”, as he was called by his family and friends, is survived by his wife, Sandra, of the home; a son, Everett McCoy, II; three grandsons, Everett “Bud” McCoy, III, and his wife, Kristina, Gary Paul Hough, and Joey Doss, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Casandra Doss, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, James McCoy, of Albany, Oregon; three sisters, Ann Mitchell, of Lebanon, Missouri, Carol Daniels, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Elizabeth Williams, of Campbell, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in Southeast Missouri and the St. Louis, Missouri area. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marines during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on October 29, 1955. He and Sandra eventually moved to Lebanon, Missouri and made their home. Buddy had worked as a silversmith, a trade he learned from an Indian friend, and had also been employed by Fisher’s Greenhouse in Lebanon. Buddy had a deep belief in God, and had established his own personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed traveling and loved going to casinos and horse races. His family was always the most important part of his life and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Buddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 2, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be at White Oak Pond Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
