Everett True Durrington (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Everett True Durrington of Louisburg passed away peacefully on August 4, 2022 after a short illness. He was born on April 15, 1938 in Dallas County, MO to Clint and Helen (True) Durrington. Everett grew up on the family farm, attending school first at Woodhill and later graduating from Tunas High School. He was united in marriage to Patsy Wilson in Buffalo and they remained married for 60 years until Patsy’s passing.
After graduation, Everett worked in the aircraft industry for a number of years in the late 1950’s to late-1960’s in both Southern California and Wichita, Kansas. Deciding that factory work and city life was not for him, and wanting to be closer to family, he and Patsy purchased a farm at Louisburg in 1966, locating there permanently in 1968. He spent his time after moving to Louisburg farming and working full-time for the Missouri Department of Transportation, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed spending time with family, raising livestock including cattle, sheep and hogs, creating wood crafts, attending antique tractor pulls, and could often be found “tinkering” with his antique tractors (which he had several). Everett was always willing to help neighbors and could be quite the conversationalist. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dolores; and two sisters, Ethel White and Bonnie Rogers. He is survived by his two sons, Doug & wife Pam and Greg & wife Brenda; five grandchildren, Christal Mercado, Douglas Durrington II, Dylan Durrington, Brian Gennings, Sabrina Stoner; eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; one brother, Clint Ray Durrington; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Dr. Douglas Earls officiating. Escorts will be Douglas Durrington II, Brian Gennings, Dylan Durrington, J.R. Gross, Jordan Gennings, and Brian Gennings, Jr. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under care and direction of Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Foundation.
