Everett Joel Johnson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Everett Joel Johnson, son of Richard and Rachael Bohannon Johnson, was born December 28, 1932, near Morgan, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, March 15, 2013, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, two months, and seventeen days.
On February 23, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Appleberry, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Morris, Vernon, Carl, and Richard Johnson.
Everett is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary, of the home; a daughter, Janice Faye Johnson, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, William Wayne Johnson, and his wife, Denise, of Nevada, Missouri, Bobby Joe Johnson, and Cecil Ray Johnson, and his wife, Edith, all of Lebanon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Don Johnson, and his wife, Barb, and Charles Johnson, and his wife, Betty, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Anna Lou Jones, and her husband, John, of Bolivar, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Morgan community, in Laclede County, Missouri. After he and Mary were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Throughout his life, Everett worked as a welder, helping build missile silos for the government and before working for boat manufacturing companies in Lebanon.
Everett had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church, near Lebanon.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He also liked playing Bingo. He was a very gentle man with a calm disposition. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Everett was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories he made for them during his lifetime.
