Farmer Myers' Obituary
Farmer Quentin Myers, son of John and Laura Hill Myers, was born June 18, 1919, near Abo, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, March 19, 2011, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, nine months, and one day.
On July 10, 1954, he was united in marriage to Edna L. Reid, and to this union two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Luther, Kirby, Ellis ?Dink?, Howard, Ivan, and Willis Myers; and two sisters, Alta Reid, and Artie Elam.
Farmer is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Edna, of the home; two sons, Scott Myers, and his wife, Vicki, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Andy Myers, and his wife, Kathy, of Richland, Missouri; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Verlin Myers, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Roby Pierce, of Falcon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the community of Abo, near Lebanon, Missouri. After he and Edna were married, they made their home on their farm, near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their sons. In addition to operating his cattle farm, Farmer worked as a painter for many years.
Farmer made his profession of faith in Christ at a young age, and was a longtime member of Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors, where his favorite activities were hunting, fishing, trapping, and gardening. He also liked making molasses each year. He enjoyed making board shingles, and was featured in the Ozark Mountaineer Magazine. His family was very important to him and he greatly enjoyed spending time with his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Farmer was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.
