Fern Sherman (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Fern Sherman, daughter of Paul and Lily Reece Moles, was born May 20, 1920 in Douglas County, Missouri and departed this life on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in Rocky Ridge Manor near Mansfield, Missouri at the age ninety-four years, three months and seventeen days.
On January 16, 1942, she was united in marriage to Leo Sherman and to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 29, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Fern is survived by a daughter, Eva Jo Lawrence and her husband, Sam of Springfield, Missouri; son, Steve Sherman of Mansfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Randy Lawrence and his wife, Nikki of Ava, Missouri, Brad Lawrence and his wife, Kelli of Springfield, Missouri, Marcus Sherman of Rogersville, Missouri; Virginia Holden and her husband, Coy of Marshfield, Missouri; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Reverend John Moles of Mansfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was born in Douglas County and lived most all of her life in the Mansfield area. She graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1942. She was a devoted wife, homemaker and worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory for 26 years.
Fern had made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a longtime member of the Mansfield Nazarene Church where she was very active until her health declined. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
In her spare time, Fern enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
Fern was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories we have of her.
