Flora Cortez (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Flora Mae Cortez, daughter of Steven and Roxie Early Osburn, was born June 14, 1968, in San Luis Obispo, California. She departed this life Wednesday, February 6, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty years, seven months, and twenty-three days.
She was united in marriage to Nicholas Cortez.
She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Steven Osburn, Jr.
Flora is survived by her husband, Nicholas Cortez, Sr., of Lamont, California; a daughter, Casey Mathis, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, William Duvall, Nicholas Cortez, Jr., both of Conway, Missouri, and Damien Goatcher, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren; her mother, Roxie Rowland, of Niangua, Missouri; two sisters, Edith Osburn, and Roxanna Dill, both of Conway, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in California and then made her home in California until moving to Lebanon, Missouri in 2006. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for thirteen years, at Webco Manor, Marshfield Care Center, and Lebanon North and South Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers.
In her spare time she enjoyed doing craft projects and was a wonderful cook. She had a very loving personality and a heart of gold. Her family was very important to her and she greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
Flora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Services for Flora Mae Cortez will be private under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
