Flora M Mulligan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Flora May Mulligan, daughter of Robert and Cynthia Willard Lowery, was born May 22, 1923, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in Ozark Community Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, six months, and twenty-seven days.
On September 24, 1938, she was united in marriage to Leslie Mulligan, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie, on September 15, 1994; two brothers, Robert and Marion Lowery; and two sisters, Faye Foughty and Fern Coleman.
Flora is survived by a son, Charles Mulligan, and his wife, Linda, of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; a daughter, Bonnie Williams, and her husband, Wayne, of Phenix City, Alabama; five grandchildren, Gary, John, Robert, Amanda, and Matthew; a number of great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and Leslie were married, they made their home in several places across the country where Leslie would be working. In 1969, they returned to Missouri, and made their home near Phillipsburg, Missouri. Throughout the years, Flora was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, growing beautiful flowers, and coin collecting. She possessed a loving heart, had lots of friends and liked entertaining. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed caring for her home. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her children and grandchildren.
Flora was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them.
