Flora Putman's Obituary
Flory Irene Putman, daughter of Orvel Richard and Florence Irene Berry Massey, was born July 12, 1939, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in her home, near Hartville, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, seven months and twelve days. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Canyon Lee Bash; a sister, Bonnie Reeves and an infant sister, Norma Massey; and three brothers, Don, Curtis and Charles Massey. Flory is survived by three sons, Zane Leon Bash and his companion, Geri, of Hartville, Missouri, Paul David Bash, and his wife, Rella, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and James Richard Bash and his companion, Linda, of Marshfield, Missouri; a grandson, Austin Bash; three brothers, J.R. Massey, of Lebanon, Missouri, Chester Massey and his wife, Rose, of Florence, South Carolina, and Marion Massey, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Alma Detherage, of Lebanon, Missouri, Nola Porter and her husband, Bill, of Charleston, Tennessee, Marilyn McCallister and her husband, Gary, of Springfield, Missouri, and Ruth Porter and her husband, Dave, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; close and very special friends, Steve Lescord, of Hartville, Missouri, and Jan Rector and her children, of Norwood, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Lebanon where she attended school. She later moved to Indiana, where she married. In 1974 the family moved back to Lebanon. Throughout her life she worked doing in home healthcare. Flory had professed her faith in Christ and attended the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church and lately attended the Little Country Church in Hartville. She centered her life around her family, who was very precious to her. In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales, going out to eat and traveling. Flory was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts. We will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in White Oak Pond Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. in Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Hartville, and from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home in Lebanon.
