Florine Marie Vaughn (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Florine Marie Vaughn was born March 25, 1922 near Lebanon, Missouri to Raymond and Bertha Mae Shumate Brown. She passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2026, just two days following her 104th birthday, at Copper Rock Village in Rogersville, Missouri.
Florine lived most of her life in the Lebanon area. On October 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Coy Edgar Vaughn. They made many wonderful memories together before he passed away on December 13, 1978.
In addition to her loving husband, Coy, Florine is preceded in death by her two sons, Jerry Lynn Vaughn and Terry Edgar Vaughn; her great-grandson, Tanner; and her nine brothers and sisters, Margaret Gibbs, Betty Hufft, Dorothy Eidson, Cecil Brown, Johnny Brown, Junior Brown, Lee Brown, Bud Brown and Bobby Joe Brown.
Florine is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marquetta Vaughn of Springfield, Missouri; two grandchildren, Eric Vaughn and his wife Stephanie of Marionville, Missouri and Samantha Vaughn of Springfield, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Derrick and his wife Jessica, Ashley and her husband Justin, Dylan, Jeffrey and his wife Shernell, and Jarrett; seven great-great-grandchildren, Pailee, Kristina, Atticus, Ezekial, Maddox, Amelia and Paxton; and other relatives and friends.
Florine was the second of ten children. She had memories of the great depression and stories to tell about World War II. She saw many changes in the 104 years she lived on this earth and enjoyed telling those experiences to her family and friends.
Florine was a hard worker and worked at H.D. Lee for many years in Lebanon. Following her time there, she cleaned several homes in the area before retiring at age eighty. She lived independently until the age of ninety-nine.
Florine enjoyed going to Yard Sales with her sister. She was very proud that she had the opportunity to live at the old homestead. She loved her family very much and will be remembered for the interesting stories she would tell and her sassy personality.
Florine was a cherished wife and mother and wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. It is with honor and joy that we celebrate her long life and know she will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
