Floyd "Bud" Clark (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Floyd “Bud” W. Clark was born April 12, 1939 to Floyd P. Clark and Leeta Hawkins Clark in Tuscumbia, Missouri. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was eighty-five years, three months and twenty-three days of age.
Bud grew up in the Iberia and Mountain Grove, Missouri area, graduating from Iberia High School in the class of 1957. He was very gifted as a rodeo cowboy and won the Missouri State Championship in Calf Roping in 1957. He went on to qualify for the Youth National Rodeo Finals. His love for rodeo also gave him the appreciation for horses and Bud had several horses throughout the years.
On September 22, 1960, Bud was united in marriage to his true love and best friend, Patsy Ann Burks. To this union three wonderful boys were born.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; Floyd and Leeta.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly sixty-four years, Patsy Clark; three sons; Gene Clark and his wife Belinda and Scott Clark and his wife Janis, all of Lebanon, Missouri and Bob Clark of Russellville, Arkansas; one brother, Ron Clark and his wife Rosalie of Jefferson City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Eric, Matt, Britney, Katlyn, Hannah and Selbi; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Alexa, Milo and Cohen; and many, many friends.
Bud worked alongside his dad at the Standard Station in Lebanon for several years. He then opened up Clark Hardware and had this business for fifteen years. He enjoyed meeting people and helping them select what they needed for their projects.
Following his time in the hardware business, Bud became an auctioneer, a career that he loved. It was said that Bud had a very unique rhythm in his auctioneer voice, one that set him apart of others and gave him a successful career.
Bud was a follower of Christ Jesus and an active member at The Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon.
When the boys were growing up and playing baseball, Bud volunteered as a Little League coach and a Babe Ruth coach. He enjoyed the sport very much and having the opportunity to spend time being a role model to his sons and their friends.
He and Patsy also enjoyed spending time together. They liked to travel and have documented countless memories of wonderful destinations they saw and experienced throughout their married life.
Bud will be remembered for his enjoyment of visiting with everyone and his gift of storytelling. He had stories for days and could tell a story the way nobody else could.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, his family was the center of his world and they will hold tight to the lasting memories he made with them. His warm presence and unwavering support will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
