Forest Lynch's Obituary
Forest Paul Lynch, son of Albert F. and Bessie (Pierce) Lynch, was born August 24, 1924, in Marshall, Arkansas. He departed this life Wednesday, October 24, 2007, in his home in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, and two months. He was united in marriage to Vina Elizabeth Little and together they spent the last fifty-three years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Lynch; five brothers, Edison, Frank, John, Austin and Ralph Lynch; and three sisters, Gertrude Hogan, Peggy Welch, and Janet Wood. Forest is survived by his wife, Vie, of the home; two children, Shirley Tennis, and her husband, Dale, of Springfield, Missouri, and David Lynch, and his wife, Patricia, of Willow Springs, Missouri; a friend who was like a son, Arthur Rogers, and his wife, Norma, of Hartville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kimberly Oglesby, and her husband, Doug, of Hudson, Wisconsin, Kristen Amber Lynch, and David Stetson Lynch, both of Willow Springs, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Parker Oglesby, both of Hudson, Wisconsin; a brother, Tony Lynch, and his wife, Janice, of Fordland, Missouri; two sisters, Eunis Rushing, of Marshfield, Missouri, and Nicie Goss, of Arroyo Grande, California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised in Arkansas and moved to Mansfield in the 1930’s before making his home in the Seymour area in 1943. He then entered the United States Army, where he served his country faithfully during World War II and was later honorably discharged. Forest had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Catholic faith. Besides being a farmer, he had owned and operated motels, restaurants and lounges in Gainesville and Seymour. He along with other business leaders was instrumental in bringing Hutchins Steel Processors and HD Lee Company to Seymour. He was an expert at cutting and cooking meat. Forest was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
