Forrest Monroe Meads (Seymour)'s Obituary
Forrest Monroe Meads, son of Forrest Edward and Gracie Opal Coryell Meads, was born June 6, 1939 in Camdenton, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, January 06, 2013 in his home, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years and seven months.
On August 10, 1957, Forrest was united in marriage to Patsy Jo Marler, by the Reverend T.O. “Buck” Marler, and to this union two sons were born.
Forrest was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steven Lee Meads; and a brother, Gary Eugene Meads.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of the home; son, Michael James Meads and wife Nina of Springfield, Missouri; grandson, Richard Allen Meads and friend Mary Sessions, of Springfield, Missouri; sisters, Shirley June Butler of Camdenton, Missouri, Joyce Marie Ross and husband Charles of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Betty Wrinkle of Lebanon, Missouri, and Barbara Thomas of Camdenton, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Forrest was born in Camdenton and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1957. He and Patsy moved to Springfield in 1966 to make their home.
“Frosty,” as his co-workers knew him, went to work for W.J. Zickel Flooring in the early 1960’s and worked there for over thirty-five years until his retirement in 2000.
Forrest had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of the Westport Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the fishing trips that he and Patsy made to Lake of the Ozarks and the other surrounding lakes and rivers. Forrest also enjoyed traveling the country in his travel trailer, as well as doing wood working in his shop. Spending time with his family and friends was very important to him.
Forrest was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
