Frances Lee Devine (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Frances Lee Devine, daughter of Otho Henry and Josie Cross Heflin, was born April 14, 1940, in Donna, Texas. She departed this life Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, eight months, and twelve days.
On September 10, 1963, she was united to Rodney Bill Devine, Sr., and they shared twenty-seven years before his passing on June 3, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Otho Henry Heflin, Jr.; and two sisters, Eunice and Vivian.
Frances is survived by three daughters, Sandra Gamache, and her husband, Guy, of Opelousas, Louisiana, Linda Devine, of Laramie, Wyoming, and Tracey Bateman, and her husband, Rusty, of Lebanon, Missouri; four sons, Steve Badgett, and his wife, Yong Mei, of Dallas, Texas, Jack Schultz, Rod Devine, and Bill Devine, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-daughter, Dona Roche, and her husband, Steve, of Mansfield, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Tony, Ashly, Amanda, Jody, Jr., Lisa, Sean, Robyn, Joshua, Jennifer, Shelly, Cat, Michael, Stevan, and Will; ten great-grandchildren, and one eagerly anticipated; a sister, Edith Smith, of Dallas, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Donna, Texas, and was raised in Brushy Creek and Dallas, Texas. In October of 1983, she moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and made her home. Throughout the years, Frances was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her family, and also was a writer, specializing in mystery novels.
Frances had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Lebanon Family Church.
She belonged to the American Christian Fiction Writers organization. She was very fond of figure skating and holidays, particularly Christmas. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-five years.
