Frances Mae Kennedy (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Francis M. (Hook) Kennedy, 82, of Halfway, Missouri passed away on Friday August 2, 2019 at the Citizen Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
Frances was born on December 12, 1936 in Sharon, Kansas as the only child of Jimmie and Florence Hook. Her family moved from Kansas to a farm just south of Buffalo, Missouri where she grew up next to her future husband Robert. They were married on November 27, 1954 in Stockton, Missouri. Frances lived in Halfway for most of her life, where she worked on the family’s dairy farm. She also worked at Teters Florist in Bolivar, Missouri.
Frances was a kind person who enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She liked traveling, working on puzzles, watching old westerns, and talking care of animals. Frances was a devout Christian. During the final six years of her life she resided at the Citizen Memorial Healthcare Facility, where she made many friends and participated in a host of activities. She especially enjoyed attending Bible studies, church activities, concerts, and participating in the monthly “funny money” store.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Kennedy, and sister-in-law Jeanie (Jean) Kennedy.
Frances is survived by her three daughters, Jeanie Keith of Austin, Texas, Roberta Roberson of Buffalo, Missouri, and Barbara Owen’s of Buffalo, Missouri, and her son John Kennedy, Sr. of Halfway, Missouri. Additionally, she is survived by nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at the Memorial Gardens of Memory in Buffalo, Missouri on Monday August 5th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Cantlon, Otterness, & Viets Funeral Home to offset the funeral expenses.
