Frances Marie Schweitzer's Obituary
Frances Marie Schweitzer, daughter of, Frank and Mary Ebert Hickenhooper Benard, was born October 28, 1922, in Glassmore, Pennsylvania. She departed this life Friday, May 5, 2006, in Cox Medical Center, South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, six months and seven days. On August 13, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harold Martin Schweitzer, and to this union one son and two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, on March 6, 1994; her parents; and five brothers and five sisters. Frances is survived by a son, Frank Schweitzer, and his wife, Jeanelle, of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Sandra Felshin, and her husband, Dan, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Dorothy Eisenhauer and her husband, August, of Roselle, New Jersey; three granddaughters, Amy Eisenhauer, of Roselle, New Jersey, and Regina Lynn Thomas, of Drasco, Arkansas, and Sue Felshin, of Boston Massachusetts; two grandsons, Gregory McGuire, of Withville, Virginia, and Lee Felshin, of Poughkeepsie, New York; six great-grandchildren, Nikki, L. J. , Kattie, Jacob, Jarrett and Lee; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where she met and married Harold. In 1962, they moved to New Jersey, where they lovingly raised their family. In 1999, she moved to Missouri and resided in the Cabool area. She had lived near Mansfield for the last six years. Frances had professed her faith in Christ and attended the Mansfield Assembly of God Church. Her family was very dear to her and she loved spending time with them. She loved children, and they loved her. While raising her family, she was an active leader in Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies, and was an assistant teacher for Head Start. Taking care of her special friends, her dog, Penelope, her cat, Toby, and her cockatiel, Bird, filled her life with pleasure. In her spare time she enjoyed doing ceramics and crocheting. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, in the Mansfield Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
