Francis Penn's Obituary
Francis Marie Penn, daughter of Thomas Virgil and Ora Johnson Hampton, was born January 20, 1939, in Douglas County, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, August 3, 2008, in Select Specialties Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, six months, and twelve days. Francis was united in marriage to Thomas Douthitt and to this union two children were born. Mr. Douthill preceded her in death on May 28, 1998. Francis was also preceded in death by her parents. On October 20, 2000, Francis was married to Kenneth A. Penn and together they have shared the past seven years. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; a son, Keith Fry, and a daughter, Jan Myers, both of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Hampton, of Ava, Missouri; along with other relatives and many dear friends. Francis was born near Ava, was a graduate of Ava High School, and had lived many different places during her life. She worked as a nurse’s aide, but most of all, she was a devoted and caring wife and mother. Francis loved to paint and cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Francis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday August 8, 2008 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Mansfield. Burial will be in the Jenkins Cemetery.
