Francis David Roberts (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dr. Francis David Roberts, 80, of Leawood, KS died Thursday, September
29,2016 due to complications from interstitial lung disease.
David was born September 1, 1936 in Humansville, MO, the son of Francis
and Dorothy Roberts. He graduated from Bolivar High School in 1954,
Southwest Baptist College in 1956 and UMKC School of Dentistry in 1962.
David married Patricia Louise Harris on August 31, 1962 at First Baptist
Church, Butler, MO. Immediately after, David served as a captain and
dentist in the United States Air Force. Following his service, they moved to
Boonville, MO where David served Central Missouri as a dentist from 1964
until his retirement in 1992.
David was a devout follower of Christ, active member of First
Baptist Church in Boonville for many years and a member of Gideons International. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Holmeswood Baptist Church Kansas City, MO.
David is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and siblings Tom Roberts,
Carolyn Hendrickson and Ruth Clark. He is survived by his son, Brent
(Patricia) of Franklin, TN, and his daughter, Beth DeKoekkoek (Paul) of
Overland Park, KS and their children, Andrew, David and Clara. He is also
survived by one brother, Paul Roberts (Helen), dear friend, Carolyn Gabriel and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5 at First
Baptist Church Boonville. The family will receive friends at the church one
hour prior to the service from 1 0 to 11 a.m. A graveside service will be
held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 8 in Bolivar. The family will receive
friends at Butler Funeral Home one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11
a.m.
Memorial contributions can be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative
Care, The Gideons International, the Arthritis National Research
Foundation and First Baptist Church, Boonville.
