Frank Barton (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Frank E. Barton, son of Harry and Anna Pryor Barton, was born November 20, 1928, near Lynchburg, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, April 1, 2014, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, four months, and eleven days.
On November 8, 1952, he was united in marriage to Naomi R. Hildebrand, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brent A. Barton, in 1991; two brothers, Bob and Clyde; and a sister, Ivaree.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Naomi, of the home; a daughter, Beverly Ann Brew, and her husband, James, of Greenwood, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Erin; a great-grandchild, Teddy; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Competition community, and graduated from Plato High School. He then earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri. For seven years, he taught in rural schools in the Lebanon area. During those years, he and Naomi were married, and they made their home in Lebanon, where they lovingly raised their family. Frank worked at the Western Auto Store in downtown Lebanon for twenty-five years, and then worked for M.F.A. Exchange and Hardware for fifteen years.
Frank joined the Lynchburg Baptist Church in his youth, and followed the Baptist faith throughout his life.
He enjoyed hunting for and collecting antiques and liked caring of his lawn. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with his friends. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mt Carney Cemetery.
