Frank Jones (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Frank Mack Jones, son of the late Lonnie and Marie Jones, was born July 11, 1928 in St. Louis county and died August 17, 2017 in Bolivar, Missouri.
On February 15, 1950 Frank married Joan Belle Taylor. The marriage was blessed with five children.
Frank was employed by Cummings, McGowan and West as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic for many years and a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 513.
While living in St. Louis county, the family had a small cattle farm, complete with a hayfield and a huge garden. After retiring in 1985, Frank and Joan traveled and camped throughout the United States and Canada, visiting their children and other family members. The couple especially loved exploring Alaska, and fishing in upper Manitoba. Frank was an avid walleye fisherman, and was always looking for the best lure.
Frank was a man of many talents and interests. He renovated his homes, his cars, and the homes of his children. After retirement, Frank continued to garden, and and branched into fruit production, planting berry bushes, apple, peach, pear and cherry trees at his home near Stockton Lake. He set up a workshop and built beautiful furniture. He learned to use computers to feed his need for knowledge and to find new tools. He enjoyed working in the kitchen, using his renovation skills to customize meals and desserts. Frank became quite the pie baker.
Frank is survived by Joan, his wife of 67 years and all five of his children: Esther (Dan) Wiese of St. Louis, MO; Lonnie (Candace) Jones of Springfield, MO; Frank M. Jones, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; Eddie (Cindy) Jones of Steelville, MO; and Jeff (Sandi) Jones of Theodosia, MO.
