Fred Harvey Kempton (Seymour) III's Obituary
Fred Harvey Kempton, III, son of Fred Harvey Kempton, Jr. and Olga May Jordan Kempton, was born February 20, 1932 in Los Angeles, California and departed this life on June 4, 2018 in Webco Manor in Marshfield, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, three months, and fourteen days.
On May 10, 1952, Fred and Noretta Irene Furlow, were united in marriage by a very good friend, Reverend Robert Reed, in Dunsmuir, California and to this union three children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clark Kempton, his grandson, Johnathan Kempton and his son, Fred Harvey Kempton, IV.
Fred is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Noretta, of the home; daughter, Debra Bojko and husband, Gene, of Cape Coral, Florida; son, Michael Kempton of Fordland, Missouri; four grandsons, Mike Kempton and wife, Kali, Dan Kempton, Jeff Kempton and wife, Chelsea, and Gene Bojko, Jr. and wife, Brooke; three granddaughters, Kelli Boles and husband, Gary, Angela Gartin and husband Sonny, and Kari Kempton; eleven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kimber, Poet, Loren, Claire, Andrew, Travis, Samantha, Jada, Dezaray and Nevaeh; daughter-in-law, Carlin Kempton and many friends.
After high school he attended Placer College where he played basketball and held the school scoring record for many years. He went to work for the Placer County Assessor’s office as department head. Tahoe Title & Guaranty then hired Fred as a Title Officer then promoted him to manager of the South Lake Tahoe branch office.
While in Auburn, he was the President of the Exchange club and was also one of the local scout masters. He was a member of the Sacramento Musician’s Union and was a member of the Rotary Club, Civil Air Patrol in South Lake Tahoe and a member of the South Lake Tahoe Masonic Lodge #707 A.F & A.M. During that time he also sponsored an exchange student from Finland. He left the title business and formed his own real estate company “Kempton Realty”.
In 1982, he and his family moved to Missouri, which consisted of 14 people and 4 dogs. He worked for Paul Mueller in Springfield, working as an escort delivering stainless steel tanks all over the United States. He later got his funeral director’s license and began transporting for all of the local funeral homes.
Fred loved the horse races and had a race horse named “Low Tension”. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and travelling in his motorhome. His favorite hobby was model airplanes. He was an excellent model airplane builder and enjoyed flying them as well. But most of all Fred loved being with his family, who always spent Christmas and many holidays together.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather who will always be loved and remembered by those left behind. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will remember those fond memories of our times together forever.
