Freda Glose (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Freda Barbara Glose, daughter of R.V. "Felt" and Ida Alma Eidson, was born on January 6, 1933, in Springfield Missouri. She departed her life on July 14, 2017, at Colonial Springs Care Center at the age of 84 years old.
After her union in marriage on January 27, 1951, to Wilburn L. Barclay they moved to Springfield, Missouri, where they lived until 1970. Freda moved to the St. Louis area later in 1970 where she went to work for the C.H. Robinson Co. and then later for Glenn's Truck Service which she later retired from. Upon her move to St. Louis she met Fredrick R. Glose who on November 9, 1974, became her best friend and husband of 23 years.
In 1990 Freda and Fred were blessed with retirement and moved to the Buffalo, Missouri, area. Freda wasn't one to sit around and do nothing so she entered the work force again going to work for Ground Source Systems in Buffalo, Missouri, where she retired for the second time at the age of 79.
Freda was raised in Macks Creek, Missouri, on a farm in Prairie Hollow. She attended Macks Creek School where she graduated in 1950. She enjoyed many activities in school and was an avid basketball player.
As most people know, Freda took great pride in her appearance whether it was her hair, her home or her flower garden. She had such a passion for her flower beds, the love for all the stray cats in the neighborhood, and feeding the birds. She had a good eye for and loved collecting antiques of all kinds. She loved sitting at her kitchen table watching the humming birds while reading a good book and having a cup of coffee.
The highlights of her life were her Grandkids and Christmas. She always looked forward to decorating and preparing things for Christmas knowing how much fun and laughter it was going to bring. Christmas at "Grans" was a special time for all the family as well.
Freda and Wilburn were blessed with five children whom survive her. Melissa Pojar and husband Terry of Buffalo, MO, Sam Barclay of Buffalo, MO, Suzanne Gustafson of Buffalo, MO, Jeff Barclay and wife Terry of Urbana, MO & Tracy Rank of Buffalo, MO. Freda was saved at an early age and rejoiced in the Lord.
Freda is preceded in death by her husband. Fredrick R. Glose; her parents, R.V. "Felt" & Ida Alma Edison; her brothers, Bobby and Billy Eidson; her sisters, Jean Sullivan & Lydia Budelovich and son-in-law Daniel "Gus" Gustafson. She is also preceded in death by her two dog companions of many years, Hobo and Tramp. Freda is survived by nine grandchildren, Shawn Pojar, Sammie Lynn McCracken, Loryn Barclay, Alicia Turner, Cody Barclay, Erica Barclay, Josh Tuning, Kaysea Rank, and Tony Rank. She has eight Great Grandkids with another one on the way and one Great-Great Grandchild. Freda will be missed by her family and many friends.
