Freda Jane Stanley (Seymour)'s Obituary
Adored wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Jane Stanley departed this life with family by her side in her rural Seymour, Missouri, home on March 17, 2021, at the wise age of eighty-three. She was a life-long Seymour resident.
One of three children, she was born Freda Jane McCleary on May 30, 1938, in Seymour to Wayne Floyd and Beulah Mae (Frakes) McCleary. Jane was a member of the Seymour High School Class of 1957. On February 16, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Leon Stanley, and to this union three children, Jeanie, Jimmy, and Julie, were born. Jane was a dedicated wife and homemaker and worked outside the home, retiring from H.D. Lee in 1997, after more than 25 years of faithful service. Jane was an excellent seamstress and sewed many clothes for her kids and grandkids. She was an avid nature lover who enjoyed birdwatching and fishing. She looked forward to summers spent planting a garden and canning the fruits and vegetables of her labor. In other spare time, Jane liked to play cards. She most enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. In addition to her parents, Wayne and Beulah, preceding Jane in death were her two brothers, Clitus MCleary and Roy McCleary. Jane is survived by her beloved husband Jim with whom she shared 61 glorious and happy years; their children, Jeanie Sees, Jimmy Stanley and his wife Elaine, and Julie Ritter; five grandsons, Tom Sees, Travis Sees, Michael Stanley and his wife Angela, Chris Ritter, and Josh Ritter; and six great-grandchildren, Lilly Stevens, Rebecka Stanley, Avery Stevens, Remington Stanley, Noah Ritter, and Alexa Ritter; several nieces and nephews; other extended family and many, many more dear friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and left at the funeral home.
