Freda Stirling (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Freda Marie (Engledow) Sterling, Age 90, passed away March 17, 2014 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, MO. She was born July 31, 1923 to Ray and Elpha (Parrott) Engledow. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl Sterling, a brother Wayne Engledow and wife Delpha, a sister-in-law Grace Engledow, and a son-in-law, Joe Morgan.
Freda was a homemaker and with her husband, Carl, owned and operated the Red Cedar Motel in Bolivar for several years. They enjoyed spending winters in Texas and she enjoyed traveling with friends and her daughters. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and a charter and life member of CMH Auxiliary where she contributed many volunteer hours and received the Lillian Hutchison Award in 2007.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Morgan, Aurora, IL and Christa Long and her husband Mike, Kansas City, MO; two grandsons, Brian Morgan and wife Amanda, Winnetka, IL and Jeff Long, Kansas City, MO; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Reece Morgan; a brother Gene Engledow, Bolivar and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a loving wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the First Christian Church or CMH Auxiliary.
