Freddie Barlett's Obituary
Retired Staff Sergeant Freddie Lee Barlett, son of Wilburn Oscar Barlett and Nancy Meg Nola Newberry, was born November 28, 1933 near Girdner, in Douglas County, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, October 17, 2007, in his home, in Macomb, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, ten months, and nineteen days. On September 10, 1954 he was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Cline, and to this union five children were born. Freddie spent twenty years in the United States Air Force and retired in 1974. He loved working in the timber and after retiring, he built cedar jewelry chests. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Dalton, David, Billy, Luther, Pat, and Bob Barlett; and two sisters, Anna Carr, and Dottie Paschal. Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Joyce, of the home; two sons, Rick Barlett, of Ava, Missouri, and Randy Barlett, of Macomb, Missouri; three daughters, Cindy Morrow, of Houston, Missouri, Janie Garrison, of Hollister, Missouri, and Tammara Rawlings, of Macomb, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene Hicks, of Norwood, Missouri, Pauline Turley, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Zola McInis, of the State of South Carolina; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. Freddie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2007, in the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 3 - 4:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
