Fred spent his early childhood in Lebanon before moving with his family to Springfield. They returned to Lebanon and Fred graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1966. He was drafted in 1967 and served almost two years in the United States Army. He served faithfully in the 19th Combat Engineers in Vietnam.
When he returned home, Fred was employed by the Carr family before launching his career in property development. He established England Construction and built many homes throughout the Lebanon area. He loved building homes and was proud of the work he was able to provide for families to have a home. He retired in the mid-1990’s due to illness he had contracted from Vietnam.
Fred was active in the local VFW and DAV. He had a big personality and liked visiting and dancing. He seemed to always be able to find a connection with people.
He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to tinker on cars. He loved his convertible and could be found cruising around on nice days.
On March 20, 2013, Fred and Glenna were united in marriage. They enjoyed going to Texas to snowbird for the winter. They looked forward to their time in Texas and had made several friends there.
Words cannot adequately express the impact he has had on the lives of his family and so many others. Fred’s confidence, conviction, and loyalty were forever etched on the lives of those he touched. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them.
