Frieda F. Cheek, daughter of Thomas and Nora Ellen Moore Hash, was born August 7, 1918, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, May 13, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years, nine months, and six days.
On August 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Martin Kenneth Cheek, and they shared forty-four years before his passing on December 21, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers.
Frieda is survived by a son, Martin Cheek, of Conway, Missouri; three grandchildren, Joshua Cheek, Heather Stief, and her husband, Matthew, and Joseph Dull; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community. After she and Martin were married, they made their home in the Phillipsburg and Conway area, and lovingly raised their family. Throughout the years, Frieda was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Frieda was saved and baptized at a young age into the Conway Assembly of God Church.
In her spare time she greatly enjoyed quilting, cooking, and gardening when she was able. She also liked to go hunting and fishing with her husband, when they were younger. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and especially with her grandchildren.
Frieda was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, and was caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she made for them throughout the years.
