Garry C. Matney (Seymour)'s Obituary
Graveside services for Garry Cline Matney of Seymour are set for 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Matney, 71, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, in his home.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1943, in Seymour to Bertha “Maggie” Matney Denny.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School, School of the Ozarks and also attended Drury University in Springfield.
He served in the United states Navy from 1965 to 1970, as a Corp. man and Pharmacy Tech.
He also taught photography and English classes while stationed at the Naval base in Yokosuka, Japan.
He worked at the sewer treatment plant for the City of Marshfield.
On Sept. 20, 2014, he remarried his former wife, Cheryl Lynn Earle Matney of Knoxville, Tenn.
Preceding him in death was his mother; and grandparents Cline and Alice Hargis Matney.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl of the home; his brother, Larry Matney and wife Mary of Fordland; his sisters, Nicki Russell of Marshfield and Vicki Shipman of Springfield; and his close cousins, Tommy Hoggatt and wife Shelia, Paulette Thomas and Kim Thompson and husband Jim all of Seymour.
