Gary V. Cuatt (Seymour)'s Obituary
Gary Vernon Cuatt, age 72 of Seymour, Missouri passed away Sunday March 19, 2017 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield following a lingering illness.
Gary was born Tuesday, February 27, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska to George Thomas Cuatt and Frances Emily (Sexton) Cuatt. He was one of three children. The family moved to Seymour, Missouri in 1958 and he attended Seymour schools, graduating with the class of 1963. Gary enlisted in the United State Navy, serving as an electrician from 1965 to 1971. After his years in the service he went to work for the GE Corporation as an electrician, working for them until his retirement.
It was while he was working at GE he met Wanda E. (Caudle) Wright who was working at the time for Emerson Electric in Ava. Gary and Wanda were married December 23, 1983.
Gary enjoyed reading and his cup of coffee! He plated Canasta. He was of the Christian faith and had been a former member of the Seymour Lions Club and had served his community as a volunteer fire fighter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Wanda and three step children Randy Wright, Connie (Wright) Lacy and Deborah (Wright) Walker.
Gary is survived by a son Andrew Vernon Cuatt of Seymour, Missouri; a step-son and wife Jerry & Diana Wright of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; two sisters Laura Poore and husband Richard of Springfield, Missouri and Connie Lytle of Rogersville, Missouri as well as several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Cuatt, Jerry Wright and Ronnie McHaffie. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Poor and George Owrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home for the Seymour Public Library.
