Gary Dale Gibbs (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Gary Dale Gibbs, son of Kenneth and Margarett I. Brown Gibbs, was born September 18, 1953, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, July 28, 2019, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, ten months, and ten days.
On August 8, 1975, he was united in marriage to Lawanna Kay Betts, and to this union two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Ashlyn Brook Gibbs; three brothers, Howard Kenneth Gibbs, Carl Eugene Gibbs, and an infant, Bobby Gibbs; and two brothers-in-law, Wallace Sutton, and Bobby D. Williams.
Gary is survived by his wife, Lawanna, of the home; two sons, Jacob Lee Gibbs, and his wife, Natashi, and Dale N. Gibbs, and his wife, Amanda, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Gavin Price, Cole, Brody and Maddox Gibbs; a great-grandson, Styles Price; two brother, Donny Gibbs, and his wife, Carla, and William Lee Gibbs, and his wife, Diane, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Judy Williams, and JoAnn Rozin, and her husband, Keith, and Sue Sutton, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Jo Gibbs, of Lebanon, Missouri and Ginger Gibbs, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and attended Lebanon R-III Schools. After he and Lawanna were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their sons. Gary worked for M.F.A. Feed and Seed, Sundancer Boats for several years and he had recently retired from Lowe Boats where he had worked for over ten years.
He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting with his brothers and sons. He had a good sense of humor and a quick wit. His family was central in his life and he especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren.
Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Visitation for Gary Dale Gibbs will be Thursday, Aug. 1, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Myetta Cemetery near Decaturville, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Myetta Cemetery.
