Gary D. Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Gary Donald Jones, son of Charles A. and Pauline Uder Jones, was born June 5, 1940, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, March 15, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, nine months, and ten days.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Vielbig Graves, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ronnie Jones; and a sister, Connie Reed.
Gary is survived by two daughters, Debra Williams, of Springfield, Missouri, and Paula Bowen, and her husband, Patrick, of Reeds Spring, Missouri,; a son, Terry Jones, of Camdenton, Missouri; a step-daughter, Tammy Hobbs, and her husband, Doug, of Springfield, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Daniel Paswaters, Alexandra Bradley, and her husband, Vincent, Kaitlyn Bowen, Jason Williams, and his wife, Amanda, Jennifer Lowe, and her husband, Casey, Benjamin Jones, and Aubrey Jones; five great-grandchildren, Brody, Barrett, Dylan, Madison, and Emersyn; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School. He then worked as a lineman for the City of Lebanon for ten years. He began working for Show Me Power Company and was Superintendent of Power Transmission when he retired after thirty-seven years. He had made his home near Camdenton for the last several years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Macks Creek, and was baptized by Brother Phillip Burns in the Niangua River last summer. He loved God and held tightly to his faith.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. In his spare time he liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker, loved life and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Gary was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
