Gary Manes (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Garry Lee Manes, 67, Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Cox South Medical Center.
Garry Lee Manes was born to Ruby and Lee Roy Manes. He went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2016. Garry had been sick, and paralyzed, for several years, and was diagnosed with lung cancer in May. He fought hard to stay with his family.
Throughout his life, Garry worked in construction, with his dad and his brother.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Manes, of 49 years; three daughters, Carolyn Jean, Teresa Lynn, and Pamela Kay; seven grandkids; and 14 great-grandkids.
Garry enjoyed going to church, and his father was a preacher. Throughout his life he had a special friend, named Ben Gifford, and a dog, Precious.
Three days before his passing he joked to Ashley that he needed a tow truck to life him up onto the couch. He enjoyed his motorcycles, fast cars, and fishing. He will be dearly missed, and loved by his wife and family.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 -2:00 pm, on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, with burial to follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, East of Bolivar.
