Gary Minear's Obituary
Gary Lee Minear, son of James Milo and Priscilla (Patsy) Jane (Yarnall) Minear, was born August 6, 1965, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of forty-five years, six months, and ten days. He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandfather, and paternal grandfather and grandmother; and a step-sister, Nancy Manes. Gary is survived by his father, James Minear and his wife, Nancy, of Seymour, Missouri; his three sisters and two brothers, Georgia Powell and her husband, Jeff, of Springfield, Missouri, Wes Minear and his wife, Tami, Dale Minear, Myla Stone, and Terri Minear, all of Seymour, Missouri; three nephews, Cody Blevins, Alvin Stone, and Nathan Minear; his step-brothers and step- sisters, Terri Lynn Hahn and Randy Lee Curbow, both of Seymour, Missouri, Raymond L. Curbow and his wife, Kelly, of Rich Hill, Missouri, Sharon Kay Curbow, of Boise, Idaho, and Alice M. Stockdale and her husband, Melvin, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of step-nieces and step-nephews; his maternal grandmother, Clara Parks, of Toppinish, Washington; three aunts, Joan Harmon, of Needles, California, Ida Albers of Marshfield, Missouri, and Mary Jane Copley of Springfield, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born in Springfield and grew up in Nixa, where he graduated from high school in the Class of 1984. In 1987 his family moved to a dairy farm near Seymour. He loved the farm and spent his entire life there. In his spare time he played softball for the Minear Dairy Team and enjoyed bowling and playing with the Webster County Strikers Team during the Special Olympics. Gary had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior recently and was baptized by Reverend Mark Terrill at the Church of the Nazarene in Seymour. Gary was a loving son, brother, uncle, grandson and nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will forever cherish the precious memories he left for his family and many friends.
