Gene Buttram's Obituary
Donald Gene Buttram, son of Anson and Opal H. Lowery Buttram, was born March 4, 1941, near Grovespring, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, October 3, 2007, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, six months, and twenty-nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darrell Buttram. Gene is survived by two sons, Brad Buttram, and his wife, Brenda, of Conway, Missouri, and Brian Buttram, of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Price, and her husband, Scot, and Alison Good, and her husband, Steve, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kendra, Jason, Brittany, Chris, Samantha, and Alex; a great-grandchild, Kaidynce; a brother, Darris Buttram, and his wife, Linda, of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Faye Ruble, and her husband, Stanley, and Lella Hufft, all of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Grovespring community. He then moved into Lebanon, where he lived most of his adult years. He worked for Ray Reid Motor Company in Waynesville, Missouri, for several years, and also helped out at Willard Hufft Used Cars in Lebanon. He later worked as a water technician for the City of Lebanon Water Department for ten years. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was fishing with his buddies. He also liked tinkering with his old truck. He was a man that enjoyed his privacy, but always loved spending time with his family. Gene was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Little Vine Cemetery, near Grovespring, Missouri. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Little Vine Perpetual Care Fund may be made through the funeral home.
