Gene Keith Van Deren(Buffalo)'s Obituary
Gene Keith Van Deren was born April 23, 1949 to Weldon and Wilma (Haynes) Van Deren and was called home to the Lord at 2:00 a.m. on August 22, 2021, and exchanged his corruptible body for his incorruptible one, and was united with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Gene was born in Westminster, Texas to Weldon and Wilma (Haynes) Van Deren. He was raised in Buffalo, Missouri and graduated from Buffalo High School. He served as a health care worker for twenty-five years. He was united in marriage to his loving wife Connie on March 15, 1996, and they made their home in Urbana, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife Connie Van Deren, six sons Mark, James, Jeremy, Terrance, Jason, and Weldon, four daughters, Emily, Katie, Melissa, and April, three brothers Wendell, Galen, and Don Paul, one sister Lynette, twenty-four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Weldon, and Wilma, two sisters Paula and Peggy, one brother Kenneth and one son James.
Gene was a faithful member of Victory Temple Church, where he was known for his signature whistle. He loved to tinker with just about everything and was always building something. He loved his family and especially loved being Grandpa. He will truly be missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and church family.

Funeral services for Gene will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mission Ridge Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo, Missouri.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. August 25, 2021 in the Funeral Home.
