Geneva Lorene Henslee (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Geneva Lorene Henslee, daughter of William and Flora Manning Fleetwood, was born April 15, 1923 in Mansfield, Missouri and departed this life on May 26, 2015 in Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of ninety-two years, one month, and eleven days.
On July 8, 1939 she was united in marriage to Leonard Byrum Henslee and to union three sons were born. Leonard preceded her in death on September 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Ronald and Donald Henslee, two brothers and one sister.
Geneva is survived by a son, Leonard Henslee, Jr. and wife, Janice of Battlefield, Missouri; a sister, Dorothy Short of Mansfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, Greg Henslee and wife, Becky of Springfield, Missouri, Kevin Henslee and fiance’, Janice of Nixa, Missouri, Kim Henslee of Nixa, Missouri, Jimmy Henslee and wife, Michelle, Scott Henslee and wife, Cindy all of Willard, Missouri, Michelle Shick and husband, Andy of Kansas City, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren, Layne McBride and husband, Dave, Kole Henslee, Kasey Henslee, Abbie Bown, Gunnar Shick, Oskar Shick, Hunter Henslee, Ashton Henslee, Ryan Henslee, Megan Henslee and Lauren Henslee; two great-great-grandchildren, Emma Leeka and David Oliver McBride.
She was born in Mansfield and lived all of her life here. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
Geneva made a profession of faith in Christ at early age and was a longtime member of the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, and tending to her flowers.
Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many wonderful memories we have of her.
Memorials may be made to Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church and made through the funeral home.
