Geneva "Jo" Williams (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Geneva Jo Williams, daughter of Charles Henry and Rachel Cuemy Allen Moore, was born June 29, 1935, near Camdenton, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, October 11, 2015, in Windsor Estates, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, three months, and twelve days.
On September 7, 1957, she was united in marriage to Johnny Vernon Williams, and they shared forty-six years before his passing on June 5, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Norman Moore; and ten sisters, Winnie Allen, Beulah Wardlow, Edith Stone, Sophia Looney, Velva Looney, May Stover, Flossie Foust, Ruby Riggs, Florence Green, and Nola Webster.
Jo is survived by two sons, Benny Williams, and Clayton Williams, and his wife, Katie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Tiffany, Elizabeth Jo, Josh, Matt, Phillip, and Lindsay; four great-grandchildren, Adaleigh, Cross, Reese, Johnny Dean; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Camden County, Missouri, and graduated from Camdenton High School. She then moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where she made her home for most of her life. After she and Johnny were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their family. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Jo also worked as a seamstress for the H. D. Lee Company and later for Justice Furniture Manufacturing Company until retiring.
Jo had professed her faith in Christ and attended various churches throughout the years.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales, quilting, and sewing. She also liked to go fishing at Bennett Spring. She loved Bluegrass music and enjoyed going to Starvy Creek Bluegrass Festival each year. She liked traveling and took her first airplane trip when she was seventy-three years old. She also enjoyed watching her two favorite television programs, Lassie and Dancing With The Stars. Her family was always the most important part of her life and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jo was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty years.
