Genora Gleason (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Genora Vern Gleason, daughter of Miller and Opal Yates Collins, was born December 26, 1938, in West Plains, Missouri, and departed this life on December 16, 2019, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, eleven months, and twenty days.
She was united in marriage to Billy E. Gleason on June 26, 1954, and to this union six children were born. Billy preceded her in death on July 19, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Dakota Lacy, brothers, Donald Collins and JT Collins, sisters, Geneva Burnett and Betty Brooke. Genora is survived by three sons, Billy Dean Gleason of Mtn. Grove, Ronnie Gleason and wife, Kathie, and David Gleason and wife, Gina, all of Macomb, Missouri; three daughters, Regina Clark of Ozark, Missouri, Beth Steffe and husband, David, of Mansfield Missouri, and Sheila Miller of Macomb, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren, Belinda Morgan, Carrie Burns, Brooke Arnall, Dusty DeHann, Shawn DeHaan, Cassandra Bodenhamer, LaRee Wyman, Crystal Coday, Austin Steffe, Daison Steffe, Lindsey Casey, Whitney Owens, Blake Miller, Vince Miller, Haley Wills, Arly Miller, Cade Miller, Seth Barbe, Tara Germer, Brett Hamilton, Tyler Pritchard and Kently Gleason; thirty-three great-grandchildren; sister, Willie Forrest and husband, Ronnie, of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was born in West Plains and raised in Twin Bridges. She moved to Macomb to live with her Aunt Bertha and attended Macomb School. After she and Bill were married and began their family, she went to work at Brown Shoe Company in Cabool. She later worked as a teacher’s aide for Mansfield Schools for 13 years as well as becoming a licensed beautician. She owned and operated her own shop next to her home at Macomb. Her last job was the cafeteria manager at Hutchen’s Industries in Mansfield where she worked for 17 years. Genora had made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a member of the Norwood Assembly of God Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, working outside, gardening, raising dogs and spending time with her family. Genora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always remember the special times we had together.
